LIFESaver
Overview
The LIFESaver from 21st Century provides a life saving 'look over the shoulder' for drivers of articulated and non-articulated vehicles, without taking their eyes off the road ahead.
Similar to the 'LIFESaver' look used by motorcyclists, it is an extra check carried out by the driver when turning tight corners in city centres, or at any time when visibility of the rear parts of the vehicle is poor and could prove to be dangerous to pedestrians and other road users.
Up to four specially designed cameras can be installed; all are IP68, colour/mono, heated 'eyeball' cameras, which provide high quality images in any weather conditions. These can be mounted above the wing mirrors facing to the rear, half way down the vehicle for articulated vehicles, or at the rear as a reversing aid. All the cameras are connected to a specially designed switching unit and can be displayed directly onto the driver’s monitor.
Where a digital recording system is installed, event footage is recorded and downloaded along with footage from any internal cameras, guaranteeing a fully watermarked record of a sequence of events during any incident.
