21st Century signs passenger internet distribution deal
13 August 2009
21st Century Technology Solutions has signed a landmark channel partner agreement with Icomera AB to distribute their range of broadband gateway products for passenger transport applications.
Headquartered in Sweden with operations in the UK and the US, Icomera is a leading provider of cellular broadband gateways delivering in-vehicle internet connectivity for some of the world's largest road and rail transport operators.
The agreement gives 21st Century certain exclusive distribution rights to Icomera's Moovbox range of gateway products in the UK and for 21st Century's overseas customers.
The agreement follows 21st Century's trial of live on-board CCTV (LiveView) with Transport for London on several key bus routes in the Capital. The LiveView project utilises the Icomera Moovbox M200 mobile broadband gateway to facilitate the feed of live video from cameras on board each bus back to a 24 hour monitored control centre.
Paul Rogers, Director of Sales for 21st Century commented: "I am delighted that we have been able to secure this agreement with Icomera which, against a background of heightened security on public transport, cements our position at the cutting edge of live CCTV. In the run up to the London Olympics, the agreement will also allow us to exploit the exciting opportunities for real time information feeds to public transport vehicles that internet connectivity will bring."
