Vandalism fuels demands for fixed site CCTV
18 December 2006

As vandalism continues to be a problem across the country, 21st Century is receiving an increasing number of requests for fixed site cctv solutions.   Although the company is better known for its on-bus systems, the award winning ProGuard technology is being adapted to offer the same level of protection to depots, offices and staff car parks.

Depot vandalism costs bus operators millions of pounds every year, not only through the cost of the damage but also through injuries and vehicle down time. Depots are also a target for theft, not only of fuel and other company property, but also property from staff.

The 21st Century systems are already in use at depots for many existing customers, who use the advanced ProGuard system to protect staff and passengers on board bus fleets.  The 21st Century depot system can be adapted for depots of all sizes and any number of cameras providing high quality digital images that are downloaded and retrieved with ease, giving 100% coverage at all vulnerable sites.

Paul Rogers, 21st Century's Sales and Marketing Director, comments:  "We know that security is a major concern for bus operators, in particular at depots, offices, staff car parks and anywhere they have assets.  We provide the same competitively priced solutions for depots as we do for buses, with coverage at entrances and exits, vending machines, safes and fuel pumps. We can also provide service and maintenance plans that tie in with our on-bus maintenance. Many depots have very little security and often, the very presence of the cameras acts as a deterrent, but in the event of any incident, high quality images can be retrieved, making identification and subsequent prosecution much more likely."
